The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS) was launched in Nepal in 2015. Up to the present, a total of 209 Fellows have been dispatched to Japan.

JDS is now calling applications for the academic year 2026-2028. The maximum number of Doctoral scholars is 2 per year.
